New 2018 GT350 owner, and first thread.

I never drive my car in the rain, and I picked the car right off the truck to make sure it didn’thave the dreaded hood scratch.

I want to remove both wiper arms for a cleaner look and to prevent it from happening by accident. I couldn’t find much of anything on the Googles (mostly classic Mustang stuff).

I know some are super easy, and others require a puller. I appreciate all of your help, and for the forum.

2018 GT350, Kona Blue Metallic with white “over the top” stripes with black accents. 237 miles!!

Window tint scheduled: 4 Jun.
Ceramic coating: 11-12 Jun.

Welcome and congrats on your new ride. Great forum with lot's of information about the Shelby GT350.

I haven't had mine off (on this car) but my F-150 was just a nut then you work the wiper arm off. You absolutely sure you want to be driving around with no wipers? For sure not legal, but hope you never get caught in an unexpected downpour!

Or a bird bombing your windshield, right in front of you, or a huge juicy bug, or ...

I don't drive this car in the rain either, my car has never even seen water.
But I like having the wipers & fluid ready to go in case a really messy obstruction hits the windshield (as mentioned above).
I also keep a detailing kit in the trunk which would be my first line of defense. Not waiting till I get home to remove that bird crap from the paint, or in my case clear bra.

I like the clear bra material idea. Anyone know where I could pick some up? That wiper is a horrible design on that side; are all s550 body styles this way??
Unless you do this for a living, you really want to have a pro do it. The skill of the technician makes all the difference in how it turns out. Look for someone who does either Xpel or Suntek--both are fantastic products.

As for the hood, no. The hoods on our cars sit quite a bit lower relative to the rest of the body than do the hoods on the "regular" Mustangs.

Id just want a bit for where the wiper arm would touch.

No, not all S550s have the wiper issue. I have a '15 GT PP and had no problem raising both wipers to their full extension, until I installed a hood scoop. Now it has the same issue as the GT350, only on the passenger side. You learn to live/deal with it.

My 2 cents...xpel is unbelievable. It self heals (with limitations). A small rock ding, scratch that Isn't horribly deep, "my favorite" rubs and prints from people who just can't seem to keep their hands off. Women's handbag rubs are the worst...and I'm a female...lol. I take it for a spin in the sun and it works it's magic. No more ugliness. Limitations being front end with deeper road rock dings.

Same thing with Suntek Ultra. It comes down to which product does your detailer have more experience with.

I notice you had ceramic coating done. Curious to what product of ceramic coating you went with and your results?
Also did you do expel film afterwards of doing the ceramic coating?
Thanks..
