Just got my VIN today and apparently the car is built and waiting transport. Does anyone know if the last 8 digits of the VIN correspond at all to the chassis #?

I agree w Shadowblack- they do not correspond. When you get it, you'll see your chassis number staring you in the face from above the glove box.

My VIN No. is 3263
My Chassis No. 3220

There close but not exact.
Your lucky it is that close numerically this far along in the '16 model year, my VIN ends in 1847 and my chassis # is 1450. There is no correlation whatsoever.
I've had mine on order since 12/3. Dealer says vehicle on production hold when they pull it up and they show me the printout. Red with track pack ordered. Does the dealers allocation effect placement in the production que??
The District Manager for Ford controls the schedule for the dealer allocations. Your dealer can possibly improve your schedule through the DM, but at this point in the season, your best bet is to get the tentative schedule and hope they stick to it. All versions seem to be moving better since the end of February.

Awesome!! Congratulations!!
2015 Chassis Numbers were F####. 2016 Chassis Numbers were G####. Does this mean the 2017 Chassis Numbers will be H####? What goes the letter designate?
Letter is Year. Some letters are not used. This replaces the old 60s and 70s method where year was a digit, as in 5R09K165xxx where 5 is 1965, R is San Jose, 09 Is fastback, K is HiPo, etc. The new method was mandated when they began to use country & manufacturers codes, example: 1FATP8JZ0G5524756, where 1 is USA, F is Ford, T is R model (6 is street) G is 2016, 552 is GT 350 platform, etc. I'm sure you can Google this stuff if you want to get deeper.

Thank you for your reply and insight!
Here is the break down of some of the VIN info, I can also pull a VBOM list that basically tells you every nut and bolt used to build your vehicle. Rectangle Font Computer Screenshot Parallel

G0753 is my chassis number on the dash. What is the 0753? I know G is the year, is it the production unit?
"Technically" its the 753rd "street" 350 for model year 2016, and most likely will not match the last 4 of your VIN.

ok, here's the skinny on the vin number vs the chassis number according to "ford performance" who i talked with this past week. there were a total of 6169 GT350s (including Rs) built in 2016 (5643 GT350s and 526 Rs). the "chassis number" on the dash refers to the GT350s, including Rs, that were built. my number is G4826 (the G stands for 2016) and was the 4826 built. the build date on my driver's door jam says 5/16. so there you have it. the vin number just shows the total number of mustangs built.
Do you have access to the final chassis numbers for 2016, both G & GR? This will not match the total production numbers since there were many Special & Preproduction (non G or GR Chassis) and would be great info to know where 2016 ended!

The total production numbers you have been told are considerably higher than what other sites are quoting.

Final Shelby VIN numbers would also be helpful for understanding and clarification, must be a G# list somewhere at FORD?

Thanks for help and to anyone that has late G chassis numbers for comparison.

At some point the .016Production Chart
I took delivery on 11/11 of chassis G4532 with a build date of 4/16 on the door jamb sticker.
