To Track or Not to Track

Just wondering who opted for the $6500 Track Package? For those that didn't get it, do you have any buyers remorse?

Shelby GT350® Track Package includes:

• MagneRide™ Damping System
• Integrated Driver Control System
• Raised Decklid Spoiler
• Aluminum Tower to Tower Brace
• Engine Oil, Transmission and Differential Coolers
• Heavy-duty Front Springs

I REALLY want to tic that box, but living in Texas I don't think I can't live without A/C :(

That would be awesome, but I thought I read somewhere that the R doesn't come with AC?
You can get track pack without getting the R
R comes only track pack

Aaahhhh that is good to know! I thought getting the track pack made the R version. I didn't realize they were two different cars.

I got the R which has the track package but also added the electronics package. So I get the A/C. 😊

Nice! Was the dealer gentle with you on price?
5k over. Last summer I refused to do it. Then the first hand reviews started coming in and I was hooked.

That's probably about the best I have heard. Does that dealership have a second one? I'm also in Texas.
I opted for the tech pkg with plans to add the coolers and tower brace. The only track pieces missing will be the slightly larger decklid spoiler and the Recaros. Having driven a 15 GT premium, I really like the grip of those seats that are in the tech pkg.
R is not as available and hard to get...Good for you!

I ended up getting the GT350 with a Tech package. Thought about it real hard and second thought many times but realized I will be on track maybe once a year and tech still comes with all suspension including tower brace, so I'm just loosing out on heavier duty coolers.
I don't have buyers remorse as I will be 99% street. I like the creature comforts that come with the Tech Package. You must admit heated and cooled seats are nice to have. What I will miss is the look of those Recaros.
Sure a bit risky ordering either until we actually sit in both seats but as I am 6'0 200 lbs the Sport Seat should be more comfortable. It better also provide some lateral support..Will see.
The 2014 Shelby GT500 seats were definitely too tight..NOT comfortable.

Hey Congratulations everybody The GT350R was awarded Road and Track 2016 Performance Car of the Year..... Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Mine will have the track pack but not the R. The R with the tech pack is over the top for me. Bust a wheel and you're looking at $2,500, plus I doubt they are available for immediate delivery for replacement. Just my rational.
I'm really torn between the Tech Pack or the Track Pack. I do want to race this car in NASA events, but I also live in Texas and the cooled seats are heavenly. The decisions!!!!
I hate to correct you on the tech equipment, but tower brace does not come in tech pkg.
Actually from the Tech cars that I see that are already built and being sold online, they are all carrying the tower brace. My Dealer is looking into it to see if they decided to add it to all cars but if not, we will order it as an add on(according to the dealer). Yet to be determined.
