I have been trying to update the Sync 3 (2.2 build 16280) to (3.0)
First I tried the WIFI method and when it was able to start downloading it froze at 10%

Then I tried the USB Key method and I was getting an error I could not find anywhere

Then I Followed the Directions to the Letter, ordered a 32 GB USB Key
Formatted it as exFat copied the files direct from the ZIP File to the USB Key

Turned off the WIFI, Android Auto and Bluetooth so nothing would interfere.
and I named the USB Key SyncMyRide and it worked flawlessly.

So if you are having issues besure you use a 32gb USB formatted as exFat

There is a guy in Michigan that will do it for you - I took mine out and sent it to him for the version 4 - works with apple car play and waze way better - it’s a pain to removed but it was an wasy $100 - tried to have ford do it - no luck - tried remote access - no luck - I can look though a couple years of emails if you are interested.
