Switch or not?

Hi Fellas,

A newbie to this forum here, joined up because I am thinking hard on switching into a GT350. I have loved the 350 ever since I first saw one pull up to my girlfriend's house many moons ago. Her older sister had a boyfriend with lots of money and his 1966 nearly made me faint when he would fire it up. It was 1970 and that car was almost surreal in it's street presence. A hunger was born.

Well, like many here, I have been through lots of cars since then, some great and many not so great! Currently I am driving a great one... a 2010 M3. It is a fantastic car- 414 hp and an 8300 RPM red line from a naturally aspirated 4 liter V8. But the torque curve honestly sucks, peaks at a mere 295 lb-ft. The car is a blast to drive once you are over 5500 rpm and the chassis is fabulous. But all I have read about the torque feed from this Voodoo motor makes me drool. So my questions....

1. Anybody out there familiar with the 08-13 M3 to give me a seat of the pants comparo?
2. How hard is it to actually find this Mustang to purchase these days, especially if I want to order to my specs?
3. Normal wait until delivery is...?
4. Is anybody paying MSRP yet? The six figure on line prices crack me up.

Thanks in advance guys!

To answer your questions:
1) Not familiar- can't help you there
2) Persistence pays off- call around, some guys have driven their 350s home from 1500 miles away. Options are few. Availability of the R model is significantly reduced.
3) Expect at least 4-6 months for delivery.
4) Several of us have reported paying MSRP- check the threads in this forum.

To answer the bigger question- of course you should switch- the GT350 is an awesome car built right here in the US🇺🇸
I have a BMW 335d...It's chipped...525lb of ft torque...close to 400hp. It eats M3's!!! I just purchased the GT350 last Friday. Lose the BMW!!! There is no comparing the two. I've owned a few BMW's...I don't think I will ever go back. The performance, the sound, the look of the GT350 has me sold.

Hey Krockit
Take a look on Ebay I just did seems there are some at about $5000 over, also one guy selling his as he wants a Grabber Blue car that will be a 17. Some of the "for sale by owners" are you best bet as long as they are not flipping the car for a profit. That guy is not. My experience if you can find a car $2000-$3000 over I would grab it. I think it will be hard to find one at MSRP now unless you order a 17 when you can but the wait will be significant. I have not seen production numbers for 17 yet, only 16.
Also I have owned 4 BMW's. This is a totally different animal, raw, loud, fun....A lot less than a new M4, and yes a tribute to a great guy..with a name that we all revere.
Good luck
I wish I could have gotten mine for only $5000 over.
I understand, a lot of guys paid 10 plus over. Some seem to be paying msrp with small dealers but I think they are lucky to find those deals. I may be wrong but everywhere I look the premiums are there.
It doesn't matter. If you want the car you do what you have to to get one.
We all will simply enjoy the ride....
