I searched and didn't see a thread on this. I just spent two days at Willow Springs and didn't hit limp mode at all. Last time out I hit limp mode on the last lap of each session. The temps were cooler this weekend and I was slower (Hopefully due to worn out tires). I did get up to 261 at the end of most sessions so I was close. Nevertheless, the scoop does seem to help although it does not appear to be a permanent solution.

I also have 16' tech pack with Shelby air scoop. 3 weeks ago I ran at sebring, on second run car went into limp mode 15 minutes into run. after that started shifting at 6000rpm, and was hitting temp of 265 at end of run. we had temps 0f 94 first day and 87 second day. Shelby stated they had tested this scoop rigorously, with good results, I tend to disagree. no fun to drive car shifting at 6k, will be adding transmission cooler.

The ambient temperatures last weekend were cooler than yours. I did hit limp mode before in similar temps so I think the scoop helps. Anything over 70 or so it is probably worthless though.

Pretty disappointing to hear this. I had hope in it, but a 200 dollar fix sounded too good to be true. Bought a 16 tech pack that was brand new for a great price, but little did I know I'd have to swap the tranny with a track pack's..

There are options that don't require a transmission change, there are threads out there that show adding a coolant system to the existing transmission. If you are considering serious track time, you should add a differential cooler as well. I added a diff cooler with aftermarket parts and am working on the trans cooler system over this winter.
