Resonator Delete

Anyone used the GT X-Pipe, part no. M-5251-M8 to do a resonator delete on their GT350? If so, is it a direct replacement or does the GT pipe need to be cut? There are some after market pipes out there, but I'd like to stick with Ford parts on the GT350. Ideally, I'd like to purchase the X-pipe from the R, but it looks like Ford parts has no exhaust components available on either the GT350 or the R. The current X-pipe on there appears to be just clamped on with no welding involved. Is that correct? Thanks for your input.

Thanks Dave. I was hoping something from Ford Performance, but this one looks pretty decent.
What do the resonators do overall? Are they supposed to control interior drone or just an added layer of volume control? This looks like a great way to go for a little budged mod (compared to a full exhaust), especially if you're happy with the stock system and don't want to go all out.
Just dug this thread up, I'm thinking of doing the resonator delete.
But my question: is the back pressure that the exhaust resonator creates needed for the car to perform efficiently?
In other words by removing it the exhaust will sound better, but do you sacrifice any engine performance?
Ford tuned the car with the resonator in place so I don't want to remove it without learning more about it's function.
Your thoughts on this?
Removing the resonators makes a GT350 sound more like a GT350R in regards to the exhaust system. Dyno testing shows no significant change in engine performance.

Did the resonator delete yesterday installing the Shiftek, all went well.
Here's some pics of the install. Tomorrow I will post up before/after video so you can hear the sound difference.
First impression driving it home; it's F'n loud! just FYI know what's you're gettin.

Stock resonators:

This is me making the first of 3 series of cuts, we kept cutting more off the pipes for better fit.

Resonators removed:

X-pipe going up:

Resonator pipe coming in at 13.6 lbs

Shiftek + hardware coming in at 9.6 lbs

video to come..

Finally I did a mod that actually saved some weight. It is loud but only in "I hate my neighbors" mode.

If anyone is interested in the before & after audio comparisons of a resonator delete, here's a short 2 min video I just made:

NICE...sounds so sweeeeet!! Thanks Racer172 for that!! I'd not make that same run for a few days just to let the locals cool down.

Sweeeeet with the resonator delete for sure!!

On another note...that better not be a "real" personalized plate so soon after getting your GT350, I'm still waiting on mine and it's been a week over 4 months!! Called them yesterday and it is in process (Yay)!!

Ok! you are the first one to mention my plate! I've been waiting for someone to say something..
since I did that high-speed road run I photoshopped that bite me plate over my real plate.
here's the plate I have on it now, it's off my last car, I'm a Led Zeppelin guy
my QUIK 350 plate is still on order

Nice video racer172. I've been thinking about the resonator delete and thought I'd wait awhile but now maybe not so long. It sounds amazing.
