I had someone attempt to steal my rear trunk emblem. They didn't succeed, but did manage to break of the 2 plastic pins that hold badge to trunk. Dealer tells me only way to get new badge is to order entire black plastic trunk piece. For $900!!
Does anyone know of anyone selling OEM rear badges? I spoke to two different dealers and called SVT and got same story. I thought about front badge, but with grille is only $300. Not sure if front has same mounting tabs. Either way I am not paying $300 either.

What the dealership are telling you is right as far as I know. Mine developed a crack beside emblem on back and they had to replace the whole black panel under warranty and told me it was a $900.00 item. Don't know if front and back mount the same I don't think so but not sure. But if you can find a back one some one has taken off that will sell some have glued or double side taped the rear one on if they knocked it loose. Don't know how it held up though.

Sounds like a right proper insurance claim to me.

Yours is not the first rear badge to have broken pins. You may be better off getting some 3M trim tape and apply it back on, like the rest of the industry does it.

Rather not do Insurance claim and have to deal with deductible. Looks like the 3M tape is my only other reasonable option.

WOW, can't believe that replacement cost!
the 3M tape is a good idea, look for the thinnest tape you can so it doesn't push the badge out to far, but make sure is rated for outdoor use.

The car was parked in corner of gym parking lot. I DD the car in warmer weather, have over 10K on it.

frustrating what people do. provided badge is in good condition, it can be put back on easily. I bought carbon fiber rear panel which has no holes for badge. I removed plastic mounting pins on badge and used 3m tape to mount. 6 months later no problems holding good. hardest part of install is measuring to get centered. hope this helps, $900 cost to replace is crazy. insurance no help if you have $1000 deductible like I do

Depending on your Comprehensive deductible, usually lower than collision, you might want to check into that then have your salesman get it for you at his discount.

2 pins hold the badge to the deck lid?? Guess that explains why I have a slight gap on the left side of mine?

Probably could be, they're not pressed on that tight with the two plastic pins melted through the two holes. Don't mess with it, it don't take much to loosen it or make come off and then you either have to double back tape it back on or buy entire black panel with emblem attached for something like $900.00.
