LOL, DT, me too, you can tell the approximate time a car has been on the lot by starting with date on the bottom of the window sticker and working forwards. For instance my window sticker date is 8/29/17, (pretty sure this is when the final order was approved and sent over to production). The car was built on 9/11/17, then arrived approx. 4 weeks later on 10/07/17. This was a similar time frame as my last ordered vehicle. Of course distance from plant, etc. will vary, but for the West Coast <generally> you can add between 30 to 60 days to the window sticker date to see how long the car has been sitting...I was trying to buy a Grabber Blue 2017 w/stripe delete and black roof and dealer was claiming they couldn't go lower than $5K over MSRP due to the high demand for this particular color combo. When I asked him if it was in such high demand, why had it been sitting on his lot for 90 - 120 days he was not a happy camper...(by the way as of last week it's still there)!I agree with HotLap. Do your homework. I told the Dealership where every GT350 was within 150 mile radius, and I was willing to go that distance. Mine had a higher sticker price than the Black one with recaro seats, H0477. We negotiated all the way down to about MSRP. They really paid attention when they asked me "if you are serious, how much are you wiling to put down?" His Sales Manager, although not happy, gave in. I also told him that the car was sitting in their showroom for over a year, and I was trying to help them make room for the Roush Stage 3 that were coming soon, haha! The pre-delivery inspection date was like 4/16. I got it 05/17. I said that because they claimed the Ruby Red was in high demand, and dealerships were always calling him to let them have it. Either way, Good Luck!
