Leather seat install issues

Hello all.

Because my spouse was complaining about the recaros (and I didn't mind the idea of having perfectly-new recaros in bags ready to re-install before I sell the car someday) I purchased some 2016 leather GT power seats for my 2017 Gt-350. I checked before buying, same electronics plug.

I got them home, installed them, plugged them in and the airbag light stayed on, even after cycling everything in various ways. I took them back out and they are living in the spare bedroom.

Perhaps it's my googling abilities, but I can't find any data on the web about this conversion and what might be happening. I was at the dealer for a minor problem (breather tube kept popping out of the valve cover) and asked the service manager if he was aware of anything and he vaguely said "Ford moves leads around on plugs so often, we would never assume that the same plug is compatible year-to-year."

Does anyone here have any knowledge they could share? Thanks much!

Do you have a code reader to see exactly what it is saying? Many can also clear codes. I have a wireless one called Blue Thunder thst uses an app on my phone to read and reset codes. I’m guessing that it did not like having the airbags getting power removed. My Porsche’s were like that if you took power off. You had to use software to reset the codes.
I have the same issue. I have not had a chance to take it to the dealer. I am just driving it now with the light on. The GT350 comfort seats are so much better for daily driving than the recaros.

Gary,

did you ever get the airbag light figured out?
