Insight on ordering a R

I am not having much luck with ordering an R, even from dealers with an allocation. Does anyone have any suggestions or insight that you can share with me?

Google cargarus and do a search with them . I searched for a 350 GT and they have the rundown on 74 350GT's available all
Around the country . In fact that's how I located my car. The new additions are coming in daily so Ford is shipping.
Thanks for updating everyone with that. I was using that site along with some specific Google searches to no avail, as I am only interested in an R. I may have one nailed down with a very reasonable ADA.

My dealer said he cannot submit my R order because the R is in production hold. Someone in another forum indicated the hold is temporary- only during winter months (nov-feb). Can anyone confirm this?
Also looking for a GT350R.
Heard from a dealer today that allocations were waiting, no reason given.

Anyone with answers?
Called Ford Performance in reference to my "R" order today and for the second time was told that winter production is not probable due to the nature of the Michelin PSS2 tires which should not be subjected to ambient temperatures of less than 40 degrees F as the rubber can crack. He also said that "R" production will be somewhat sporadic, Ford will not build a large block of "R"'s at once, they will be intermingled between standard GT350 and regular Mustang production as they are all built on the same line. I imagine that the sourcing of things such as the hand built engines and carbon wheels cause delay.

My order status has progressed from "entered" on 10/15/2015 to "locked" 12/29/2015 with a partial VIN, according to my dealer.

I don't think the engines have anything to do with delays on the R, they can assemble more than 100 5.2 engines per week and those are starting to ship regularly on the base models. Most likely the planned schedule to hold off if Ford can't send cars out due to the PSS2 tires in cold climates, why build them and have them sitting around for 2 or 3 months. They can't store them outside at Flat Rock either. Good Luck with your order and hang in there, it's worth the wait.
