increasing airflow by opening front grille up?

I noticed that about 30-40% of the grille opening is blocked by plastic. Is it possible/a good idea to try to open it up a bit or is the airflow sufficient for the car?

Kart125, I am sure Ford has the openings appropriately sized and the plastic that you are looking at is there to force the air where they want it to go and where it is needed. I have not noticed any heat issues at all in 100 degree temps in slow traffic
Flow is more than enough. The filter also has a port directing flow right into it. I'm thinking of removing all the mesh looking garbage and extra plastic for looks. Much like the gt500 13-14
they engineered it like that b/c of turbulence...i believe...don't open it

They didn't do all that wind tunnel testing for nothing. Like the GT500, adding a "airtube to the intake "tube"(factory), delete it, and lose 20hp. It needs all the air it can get. But, GT350 its all about air FLOW. Might look open, but not smooooth air flow...
