Humor Warning. The Placbo Effect

1091 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  DCShelby
Anyone ever experience the "Placebo Effect" of reading different Topic titles in the "Problems and Issues" section. If I could put it in better words, I would compare it to "WebMD" diagnoses but for cars. LMFAO. Hope this topic finds or brings you into a lighter mood this morning.

I myself am reading these great and detailed topics and for some reason I'm now driving my car around, making up my own nonsense. This is not discrediting anyone's issues. Just want to have fun on this one.

Have you ever experienced "The Placebo Effect"?

Admin, please move this post to the proper section if not okay in this one. Thx

Go to Rennlist, and see the paranoia Porsche owners have about noises in the night about their cars....then they post crappy videos of it, that really don't show anything....then people pile in with all kinds of doom and gloom, and they feed off it. Then it gets into "my 150K car is a piece of junk and I'll never buy another one!!" Well till a new one comes out with deviated stitching in acid green or seat piping and calipers.

There’s something about being able to say, “my cars in the shop” that excites some people. BMW Owners a sound like the Porsche owners described above.
Does anyone know how to remove brake dust off the tail lights? I some how have one of my tails with an orange / yellow spot on the tail light.

Great, now you're gonna make me check my car when I leave work. I hate you! LMAO
This is brake dust, right? Can anyone make a suggestion on how to remove it?

There are a few things that I've asked other owners if they experience it. They initially tell me "nah, no way", then message me back after driving and are like....actually, yes.

These cars do have quirks. They are track-ready, high performance cars. It is good to be informed of them and to do your due diligence on the items that require active monitoring (oil consumption). There's one thread where an older member made a great post comparing his original gt350 and its quirks to the new ones. It was quite funny but also provided good perspective.

I had a similar spot right next to Shelby emblem in the rear...quite odd to see. I though it was pollen, but thats done for and the 350 lives in the garage. I just wiped it off with a wet towel
