At what point does “enough horsepower” become…well, too much? If you ask Texas tuner John Hennessey, there’s no such thing as “too much” horsepower.
That little tidbit helps explain why Hennessey recently turned the leanest, meanest Mustang of modern day into an even more brutal prizefighter—yes, the all-new Shelby GT350 Mustang.
From the gates, Ford Performance has loaded up the square-jawed Shelby with a potent 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. A new Hennessey “HPE575” package cranks that engine output up to 575 horsepower and 511 lb-ft of twist, but most importantly, it does so without the complications of forced induction. No twin-turbos or raucous superchargers to be seen here.
