They vary from state to state. Same plan though. The biggest difference is like the State of Florida regulates the premium. Cant discount or increase it. A set prce

While other states allow dealers to discount it to cost if they choose to do so.

The plan you want is called the Prem Care ESP .... its Fords Elite plan and I too have it on my car.

Every Ford and Lincoln store will know you have the plan nationwide . Coverage in Canade and Mexico as well

I get the extended 5 years for a total of 8 years or 75,000 miles
Voodoo, be sure its a 8yr/75000 plan and not a 5yr/750000 .....a 5yr plan is only 2 additional years of coverage. Ford starts at the in service date

Thanks, I live in Florida. Since I live in Florida, I will check there even though I am completing purchase of this car in a Maryland Dealership tomorrow. I will be thoroughly checking the car at the dealer before finalizing the deal. The Maryland Ford store was trying to sell me some variation of the plan for about 3k. I passed on it. How long do I have to make my decision on taking the Prem Care ESP?

Thanks!

A car dealership is in business to make money. An Extended Warranty pricing is variable in most states (lucky Florida) which allows for irregular dealership mark ups. An Extended Warranty is not the same as the manufacture warranty. If you read, it’s actually more of an insurance policy against certain types of repairs. I think you’ll find if your door handle falls off during the extended policy that it wouldn’t be covered. Usually high dollar items, but never bumper to bumper like the first 3 yr 36K. You got 5yr 60K coverage on power train items ($$$ engine, trans, drivetrain etc.). From there the extended policy takes over. Watch for exclusions and understand what’s covered. Usually a deductible too. And never by a policy not backed by the brand of car your buying (Ford...). Aftermarket (universal) policies are junk. Good luck.

be very careful and make sure it is the Ford plan. Lots of dealerships start there own ext warranty company .... and self insure. You dont want that. You want to make sure you get the Ford plan

Hey guys, another type of warranty protection you may want to consider is the wheel and tire warranty. I have this on my Porsche and it has already paid for itself and then some. Porsche dealership charges $568.00 to replace a tire and I've had 4 flats. Also covers wheel damage. You just call an 800 number they give you an authorization number you take to your dealer and your new tire is installed. Another great feature is the warranty is good at any Ford Dealer or any other tire shop. No deductible, covers new tire and wheel (if non repairable). I paid $970.00 for 5 years coverage. Not sure what a new wheel would cost or how much my LFD would to install a new tire, but just a couple of uses and it will pay for itself. These tires are sticky and will pick up nails, screws, etc., very easily.

Forgot to add warranty also covers emergency roadside assistance and first day rental car (if required).

cheers!

Do you feel lucky?

Extended warranty is waste of money . . . unless you are unlucky.

Insurance business model:

Premiums + return on assets = claims + admin + profit

Buying an extended warranty is paying someone's admin and profit. If you are pretty good with cars, it's a bad deal. If you are unlucky, it could be a good deal. I don't buy them, and have LARGE deductibles on my car insurance.

The Ford plan will guarantee that you can argue a non covered repair with any Ford Dealer you like... Lol. Sounds like you got the right plan.

So I opted (wrongly I believe) for the maintenance package for oils, brake pads, rotors, clutch ($2999(I thought rotors were $1400, erroneously, which is why I thought it might come in handy). I think I was misinformed and didn't contemplate doing all my own maintenance (which I now plan on doing)...I think I can cancel it. So what should I replace it with? Tires and Drive Train extended out to 8 years?

What should I pay for it?
