I am a little concerned with what I found the other day. I was removing a single Lug nut on my wheels to install a locking lug in its place. Little to my surprise I found that the Factory Lugs were a 2 piece Lug nut (regular lug with Chrome Cover). I don’t know if Black Lugs are the same (?), but with wheel lug torque north of 140 ft. lbs. this type of lug won’t hold up. Especially if you you live in a damp area.

Any ideas on a good, solid set capable of high torque?

The Gorilla nuts are solid and work well. The only issue I have with them is the black nuts are painted and need touch up after some use. Most Ford factory nuts have the sheet metal jacket that will start to distort after a few times at the higher torque.
