I fully understand that for the most part car insurance is car insurance. But when most consider age and depreciation, which car insurance is better as far as coverage goes? I have Farmers, which is what I have for the other vehicles in my household. Any recommendations out there? Right now my rate is approximately 425.00 every 6 months.

It depends on the coverage and deductible that you want for your car. I also have Farmers, it is costing me $370 for 12 months to add my GT350.

Wow - $370 for 12 months is a great price. I've been with Farmers for 40-years and carry my GL, Umbrella, Property, Personal Property, Earthquake (I live in California) and presently 4 vehicles with them and I'm not close to that low of an annual premium.

...and yes, I just put a call into my Farmers Agent!
I am with Rob! I have been with Farmers for several years and also have multi vehicle and home insurance. Not even close! No accidents and great credit. Thanks for the input I will be shopping around.

Okay - I spoke with my Farmers Agent and got a little reduction in my annual premium. Since I did not respond to their annual mileage survey, they automatically bumped me up to over 5,000 miles per year. I am now back down to 0 to 5,000 miles per year and am paying a little over $1,000 in annual premiums. I think I'll still shop around a bit more.

Car insurance coverage can be very expensive depending on your driving records, car models, and generally the likelihood of you being involved in an accident. There are, fortunately, many ways to save on car insurance, but the general rule is to avoid purchasing coverage that you don't need. Why not raise your insurance deductible and become eligible for lower rates? Raising your deductible from $250 to $1000, or even $1500 per accident would save you hundreds of dollars per year on your insurance, about 40%, and you would still be protected from losing your life savings should you cause an accident. Get all your doubts clear before buying one. Go through this reference, for more information or help.

I am currently working in this estimate for the auto insurance renewal for my car.
Bodily Injury $250,000 per person/$500,000 per accident
Property Damage $100,000 per accident
Personal Injury Protection $2,500 per person
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists
Bodily Injury $250,000 per person/$500,000 per accident
Property Damage $100,000 per accident- $250 deductible
Physical Damage Comprehensive - $50 deductible
Though it is yet to be final, still working on it.

Thanks for the detailed input. I got my rates lowered but not as low as others mentioned on here previously.
Farmers just dropped me because they have decided not to underwrite in Delaware anymore. I do have reasonable coverage, but everyone wants an arm and a leg here. Some wouldn't cover me due to having four cars--I am the only driver. I am going to drop two cars but that made little difference
Wow! I was not dropped, I still have Farmers. But apparently in Texas, you are not allowed to have more than three vehicles on one policy either. Good Luck!
It depends from time to time. Also you can tell what you need exactly. Lots of car insurance company around the world you know. Where are you located?

FYI that must be a Farmers rule because I'm on State Farm and have 4 cars and a motorcycle on my policy.

Interesting! I would have kept my 2002 Mustang GT as a daily driver if not for that.
I just purchased Haggerty Insurance because they gave me a guaranteed value on the car if totaled or stolen. Costs a little more but worth it for me.
