2900 miles on my 16' I added five quarts of oil. I had our ford dealer document it. 99.9% of those miles are normal driving. The manual says 7-10k miles between oils changes not gonna make those unless something gets better. How bad does it have to be before ford does a fix?

Oil consumption is the biggest problem with this car and its hit and miss. I have it but its mimimal. A quart every 1200-1500 miles. FoMoCo says this is within the guidlines of how the motor is made.

Some cars have no issues at all.

Continue having your dealership document the oil consumption problem and if it stays the same or get worse they will probably put a new motor in.

I am aware of a couple of engine replacements that ford has already done

My 2017 has the same built date as Zues79, I went over 1000 mile mark on my odometer today. I went out to the hill country on a 150 round trip. I did not notice any oil consumption issues yet. The oil level is almost at the full level, and clean.

4745 off the top of my head
Down another three quarts or more after another thousand miles
I talked to my ford dealer they said cant do anything until I get to 10k miles. Which is ridiculous

At 10K miles you'll have consumed 30 quarts of oil if conditions remain as today.

All that oil going through your catalytic converters and HEGO sensors is no good. If Ford does warranties your engine, I'd ask for these other components to also be swapped out.

Has any looked at your spark plugs for possible fouling?

this is why ford put out the supplemental oil guide with a few free gifts thrown to advise owners that these cars can eat oil

According to ford my oil consumption is constant at a quart every 1000-1300 miles and I now have 9400 miles on the car

For sure I am burning a quart every 250 miles or so. I can't imagine what it is doing to my exhaust components black tail pipes after 100 miles or so.

I couldn't go 2500 miles without blowing the engine. Missing my 13 gt 500 about now. Hopefully it will work out for the best

Todd, If your burning through that much oil thats engine replacement time. This well exceeds Fords normal oil usage on these cars.
