News report is too vague...

Anyway, I have a new production #. Total built for 2016 will be over 5867 (G5525867), as that # has been assigned to an R up on eBay now that they have not taken delivery of yet. At least 385 of those will be Rs based on end of next weeks scheduled run.

What are the chances of getting a breakdown of the serial numbers with what options were ordered for the 2016 which we can access similar to the ones for the 2015s.

Right now, not good, but after full production there might be. It's up to someone that has deeper access to the data. If I should get it, it will be here, just don't hold your breath.

This is most likely the next to last 2016 update as it is through 5-24-2016 scheduled date

4914 900 A & 437 920 A (R model) for a total of 5351 with a week or so to go.

M.

This looks like the final #'s for 2016 production:

900 A: 5047
920 A: 475

5522 total does not include pre-production cars.

This is right in the estimated range we had deduced in the beginning of the year. My previous post about the higher G5525867 R, while correct, is an anomaly as not all #'s in the 552 range are used.

Final production detail

The Shelby GT350 is one of the most anticipated cars of 2016. With production numbers totalling in at 2,519 worldwide, it promises to be one of the most exclusive Mustangs out there.

Of the 2,519 GT350s that will be produced, the US, Canada and Mexico will split 2,422 of them. All but 3.9% or just 97 cars are slated for "Export." The lion's share, 80.8% (2036 units) are going to stay in the US, while 7.9% (199), and 7.4% (187) are headed to Canada and Mexico respectively.

60.8% (1,531) of the cars will be boasting the Tech - 900A/67T (Technology Pack), while just 1.9% (49) will be R Models. The rarest of the rare? This will be the single Shadow Black (G1) Base-level GT350R produced. It appears to be allocated to the US Market, along with 42 others. Canada will get the remaining 7 R models.

You will have the greatest chance to see an Oxford White GT350 cruising down the street as they will account for 26.2% (661) of the total number produced. The rarest is one of just 100 Competition Orange GT350s, which accounts for only 4.0% of the production run. This is narrowly topped by the 114 (4.5%) cars to be painted in Triple Yellow Tri-Coat.

Could you post the final production tally sheet if it in fact exists? Thanks!

Don't go by the last 3 or 4 of the FORD VIN. What is the dash chassis plate of those 2 cars? Highest G R plate I have seen is 499.

FYI, there are two Rs that have incorrect chassis plates without the R on it, and a few other anomalies.

ok, here's the skinny on the vin number vs the chassis number according to "ford performance" who i talked with this past week. there were a total of 6169 GT350s (including Rs) built in 2016 (5643 GT350s and 526 Rs). the "chassis number" on the dash refers to the GT350s, including Rs, that were built. my number is G4826 (the G stands for 2016) and was the 4826 built. the build date on my driver's door jam says 5/16. so there you have it. the vin number just shows the total number of mustangs built.

G0089 is one of those R's with an incorrect chassis plate. It's not mine. I pulled a picture of it off Ebay when it was up for sale. Should have been GR089. Is this one you've counted in your "two" that have incorrect plates?

Anyone know the final G #? I have G5556 built on 6-1, last day of production. Would like to know the final G# built that day of the 5643 non-R cars. Give us an idea of the number of non G cars and special production units Ford built for other purposes.

Also seems like a BUNCH of cars built in May since Boze has G4826 with a 5/16 date on his door plate. (mine also has 5/16 on the door plate but the service dept records show Build Date 6/1 for my VIN.) That would mean well over 700 cars built in May! Seems high?
