2016 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Shows up at SEMA; Capable of 8 Second Quarter Mile

This news is technically not specifically GT350 related, but it is about a crazy Mustang which was showed off at SEMA. We couldn't help but share it. The next version of the Mustang Cobra Jet turnkey drag racer returned to SEMA this year, and it's even faster than last year's version. The new super-beast can supposedly nail an 8.0 second quarter mile!

The 2016 Mustang Cobra Jet will actually be sold as a performance part, which means it doesn't have a VIN. You can only order one by submitting a placeholder order for part number M-FR500-CJ, which can be done through any Ford dealer in North America. The price starts $99,990, but you will be hard pressed to keep it at that price because of the Ford Performance catalog's long list of parts & add-ons.

That is freaking QUICK! I love to see what the factory is actually capable of producing. Too bad that the Cobra Jets and COPO Camaros aren't more accessible.
