“R” Splitter?

Ok, have a friend at my local Cars and Coffee who has replaced his GT350 Splitter with a GT350R version. Makes our splitter (if you’re driving just a 350 like me) look Weinie. I really like the more pronounced look. Well, he has an extra new one in his garage and is willing to sell. I know they retail around $1600 (!), what should I offer? Should I do it?

This is the look (my friends car).

I think I prefer the smaller lip. One man's opinion. $1600 is alot for a minor dress up mod.
Same here Jim. Just my $0.02, but i like the stock splitter. I actually really like the R splitter, but not alone. You need the R rear wing for balance, and I do mean both aero and aesthetic balance. I’m not a purist; I’m all for making my car my car (i.e. putting R spoilers on a non-R car), but $1,600 will just about buy you a Borla exhaust or a bunch of other goodies. I’m alway prioritizing mods against cost.
Yep, I prefer the stock splitter too. I'm all for enhancement mods that are useful (and maybe make more noise ;-), but not into transformation. If I'd wanted an R I'd have bought one.
I picked up a new "R" splitter for $900 shipped, I too like the cleaner one piece look. If the non "R' splitter was one piece I would've never swapped mine. It is you car, if you want it put it on. Most non GT350 owners would never know the difference between the "R" splitter and the regular splitter.
Since you asked... Aesthetically, I like the stock splitter better. Fiscally, I like the stock splitter better. Lol
JT, I'm with the rest of them, all I see is an extra couple of inches that I'd be guaranteed to smash into a parking curb:) Not sure if you'll be tracking your car in a serious fashion or not, but I had heard the splitter and rear wings are matched (aerodynamically) but not really sure if it would make much difference at speed or not?
