Valentine 1 V2, hands down the best there is. I can detect the cops over a mile away, and around the bends in roads. And it indicates the direction of the threat.
I've had one since 1999, and only recently bought the V2 (Gen 2) 6 months ago (the old one is still in service in my son's truck, literally 21 years later).
I bought a kit that allowed it to be plugged into the power of the rearview mirror, and so it's devoid of cables, etc. (except the one that goes from the detector to the mirror).

Don't buy Escort. I bought top-of-the-line model 3 years ago. Speaker went dead after a few months. Joined Escort blog to get more info. IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM! NO RECALL! TOO BAD, SO SAD.

Vortex Radar (youtube) reports lot's of problems with Escort (though he recommends them (!)).

I have no experience with Valentine, but reviews suggest MRXC is correct. Go V1 V2 and don't worry about it.

Or, look at 30 Vortex Radar reviews. And wind up in the same spot. Most top line detectors will give you good range. Other features, like GPS and memory might be important to you. Not a bad idea to watch a lot of youtube videos to find out what's available, technology wise. There's more to it than picking up Ka band two miles out.

Same here. Bought one for my C6 in 05 and one for the DD (Escape). The collision avoidance sensors on some new cars can be an annoyance - Audis seem to be the worst.

Where is the best place to buy a V1 gen2 these days? I have a older V1 gen 1 I still use in my truck that I like and want to get a gen 2 for the car

FestEddie9 is correct; online. They were unavailable for th longest time...but recently available (I say recently...I got mine in 1Q20 or 2Q20 - can't remember exactly).

Which mount and wiring kit did you buy?

Blendmount?

I pick my 350R up tomorrow. Need to get a new V1 Gen 2 on order and an install kit.
