To Gamecock...why bother even talking about a Tesla in this forum? You will never see a Tesla competing on road courses with a GT350/500. No suspension. No brakes. No contest!

Ouch, it was tough reading that post. I guess he is missing the point of us "old-schoolers." I'll take a slower manual than an auto please....

Pretty sad that straight line performance has dictated the transmission option in such an iconic awesome car. Shame on you ford, your decision to not give the consumer the decision is just asinine!
Well said, I don't want to say "Never own an Automatic Mustang," but it is pretty close to that. I can understand for those who have left knee problems or etc.. the automatic is preferred. But for us true enthusiasts, the manual is the choice.

If this is important, Ford has made the case not to buy a GT500. The Tesla Model S doesn't shift at all.

The market for GT500s will be mature buyers, people with enough money that they can spend $80,000 for a Mustang.
The marketing pitch that "it will shift in 100 ms" is going to fall completely flat. If a buyer will be influenced by this techno slant, they will be a Tesla customer, not Ford's.

Also note that the Model S is way faster 0-60 than the GT500.

    https://www.motortrend.com/cars/tesl...t-test-review/

'This 4,891-pound Tesla Model S P100D does it best, reaching 30, 40, 50, and 60 mph from a standstill more quickly than any other production vehicle we've ever tested, full stop. In our testing, no production car has ever cracked 2.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. But Tesla has, in 2.275507139 seconds.'

At 70 years old, and having owned 4 Mustangs, the ad line that 'it will shift in 100ms' is a huge NEGATIVE. A DERAILER.
There is no doubt Teslas are just stupid fast. However, a vehicle isn't just about speed alone and listening to the Voodoo sings just place the 350s on another level. Heck, I can't even tell when the Teslas' engines are on.

I'm going to throw a big wrench in here (pun very much intended ). I love my gt350, i love the sound, and it is the most incredible car I've ever driven.

But I want a electric mustang. Go ahead and bitch at me about "being purest" or whatever you want, but it's the way of the future. Once they figure out the heat issues with electric cars, I'm game for one.

I'll lap the dinosaur burners in my sessions and never look back.

"However, a vehicle isn't just about speed alone"

Exactly my point. Ford doesn't know who their audience is.
