No issues whatsoever so far and I've been keeping a very close eye on it during break-in which would normally have the highest.

The LS engines from Chevy are known for blowing a lot of oil when driven at full song... (lol, don't ask me how I know).

As with any performance car driven hard or capable of high rpm, a catch can is a great investment. It might not pick up much, but at least the little bit you dump out each month or oil change will keep the intake track nice and clean.

I'll continue to keep a close eye for any excessive consumption and report back if something ever looks suspicious, but none seen so far.

I've read some other threads here - is a catch can on the passenger side sufficient for this engine, or do you recommend both? [I'm not sure of the reasoning for passenger side recommendation if anyone wants to educate me.]

kartguy898--each side of the engine has a pcv port and therefore the need to have oil-air separator on each side. They are easy to install and take just minutes to do. In fact the passenger side can be done in less than a minute. When you spin the engine at 8250rpm, there is going to be lots of windage in the crankcase--certainly enough to put some oil in the air.

I have not experienced any oil usage at this time

@MichaelP - just curious, what catch can brand/setup did you go with? I like the stock look of Ford Racing but I had the JLT on the Boss and was pretty happy. JLT was super easy to empty each month.

I've been told and also on the G6 forums there is several people having problems with oil consumption they say the problem could be rings aren't seating properly you have to very your RPMS don't be afraid to take it up to 8000 RPMS every once in a while it will help seat the rings I would put at least 500 miles on it before you start hitting higher revs I do have a 350 and plan on doing that its just my thought I know a guy having this problem he has 3800 miles on his pretty much baby it and dumping oil in at 2 qts. or better every 1000 miles hope this isn't a problem with the 5.2,

JLT on the passenger and Ford Racing on the driver side---don't ask why the two brands because I won't be able to answer. Both fit well and both go on easy-driver side a little more work than passenger.

thanks Michael. From what I can tell from the pictures and install instructions, the cans don't attach to anything, right? They're just "sitting there" via the hoses off the pcv valves?

The one on the drivers side has two mounting spots--one you just slide over an existing stud(don't remove the existing nut) and use the supplied nut to secure. The other goes to the shock tower where you take out a plastic push in retainer and trim a little of the insulation and put it back on
