    Unhappy Driver modes not working

I have a 2018 GT350. Selecting a different driver mode is no longer possible. I get an error on the dashboard saying switching driver modes is not working or something to that effect. I can change the steering or shock settings independently. But, I can't open the valves on the exhaust either through driver mode or the exhaust switch toggle. Has anyone heard of this issue with a GT350? I've taken it to the dealer twice now and they have no clue. They say they have been talking to Ford Engineering through emails and have been getting suggestions from them. Why do I have bad feeling about this?

Try changing your key fob and ensure you are using the master fob. If MyKey settings are turned on, you'll have a valet key that limits use. I did it the second day of owning my beast. Used the master fob and turned off MyKey...easy peasy. Hope that helps.

Also check to make sure your exhaust valves are cycling freely. If they aren't, that will prevent you from using your drive modes.

What gear are you in? If it’s in reverse the car won’t let you change modes.

I have tried both key fobs and I know it won't work in reverse. I don't have any myKeys defined. This worked fine for the first 3000 miles, then one day it didn't and hasn't worked since. The valves do open briefly on hard acceleration, so they're not stuck. My dealership says they're talking to ford engineering (well, emailing) and the engineer they're talking to denies my car has an active exhaust even though they told the engineer they see the cut outs (actuators)on my car . I don't really know who to believe and I'm not sure what to do next. Frustrating.
I still love the car, maybe not Ford so much.

I've had this happen occasionally (4 times I think in 12K miles) on my 2017 GT350.
It happened to me yesterday. The last 2 times were in cold weather.
It was fine when I left my garage, but it was out in about 20F weather for 8 hours in a parking lot, then when I started it up, drive selection wouldn't work (warning message on dash saying I can't change modes).
All was OK again when I next drove it.
Turning the car off and restarting didn't fix it.
Once I got the issue when I started the engine and stalled it immediately (pressed and released the starter too quick). In that case just turning the vehicle off and restarting fixed it.

Issue with that is I'm out in bad weather and want to turn weather mode on, but can't because weather is bad

For all the poor unfortunates who have this problem. Check out https://ford.oemdtc.com/2064/p26fe-d...-350#more-2064
There is a fix for this!
    It involves replacing the actuators.
I bought a diagnostic code reader and when the car is running and I press the drivers mode button on the steering wheel, I get DTC P26FE.
This is related to SSM 46033 - Some 2016-2017 Mustang Shelby GT350 vehicle may exhibit a P26FE DTC with diagnostics leading the the replacement of the Exhaust Tailpipe Actuator.
This part was not initially released for service.
This part is now available for service and Workshop Manual Procedures are now available in section 309-00D
The service part number is FR3Z-5K245-A

I just had a thought... Does your car maybe have a MyKey set up from the previous owner? That would prevent you from changing drive and exhaust modes, among other things.
