    Oil Analysis Report

Just thought I'd put up the oil analysis I just had done for my 18 GT350. I'll add some info here just so people can get a feel for the conditions the car is run under.

The car was broken in according to Ford's specifications. I changed the factory oil at 1000 miles and filled it with Motorcraft 5W50 and a Motorcraft filter. This sample was taken 4100 miles after that. I have had zero oil consumption issues so far. The car has not seen any track time, but has seen quite a bit of spirited driving . I do not let the car sit and idle to warm up, but do not run it hard until the head temperature is at least 180* degrees, and the oil is 150 degrees.

I am located in central PA, so the car is run in ambient temperatures anywhere from 20F-95F.

Your lucky. I have high oil consumption, a qt about 600to800 miles. I am running Motorcraft 5/50 as specified. I know others have the high consumption issue, has any cause been established and any help from Ford. Mine is a late 2017.

There have been some theories floated as to why there is excessive consumption, but I don't believe there is concrete evidence. Ford does have a policy in place to deal with it. If you are seeing excessive oil consumption, then a dealership will do an oil consumption test. If the motor uses more than 1 quart per 500 miles (from memory) then they have been replacing the motor.

You are so close to a new engine. I would drive it a little more often and just a little harder.
    2019 GT350 - Finally arrived!
2014 Mustang GT - Great car! Hard to see her go!
1965 Mustang Fastback - Wish I still had it!
