    Splitter Saver Installation Input

So I’m tired of scrapping the plastic off my front splitter on driveways, so I’ve purchased a set of ZL1 Addons Splitter Savers from LMR. The PDF instructions shows installation of all 10 (set) on the middle section of the splitter. Is this correct? My current contact has been further out toward the outer ears of splitter. I attached link to instructional pdf.

Can anyone post pics of their install if it’s different than suggested? I’m inclined to spread them out a little. Thx

No input? Well I got the savers today and LMR advertised 9 per pack and only sent 7? We’ll see if they make good on their advertising.

I spread them around for where I felt they were needed. Fore-aft and also cross car...use you best judgement. I installed 2 kits on my car but I don't recall total qty. I know I had a few left over.

i bought something that i cant use do to current scraping .... they go over the rivets .... so this stuff is screwed into the underside of the splitter and i assume is designed to hit anything first and deflect any other damage away from the splitter itself .... correct ?

These are like thick washers which create a barrier between you splitter and ground. Reduces cleareance by about 1/4” but saves grinding off a small piece of splitter each time you hit a steep driveway. (Spliiters are $$$).

BTW, LMR gets an A+++. I informed them of the short quantity in the shipment and their answer was to just send an additional pack. Quick reaction to my concern.

Jim, I have the same ZL1 splitter savers and will be installing them shortly (now that I have my Steeda jacking rails installed). Mine came with instructions for mounting on the Z06, so I'm going to install them where the splittter is actually scraping the ground. So far it's only been scraping on the front underside where it sort of "bulges". About 20 - 21" from the outer edge of the splitter... My kit came with both 1/4" and 1/2" spacers but not going to use the 1/2" and start with two 1/4" spacers, one each where it's been scraping so far. I'll add more later if necessary. Good Luck!

OK, I did it. Since I got my Jacking Rails installed I took the time to install my spliter savers. Used 13 across spliter.

Hey Jim looks good. Should help save the factory splitter from damage due to scraping. I need to get mine installed, been other focused lately, but scraped big time just yesterday!

PS jacking rails look great too...are you not using the jacking rail (on driver's side) looks like your jack stand is inboard of the jacking rail?

Bought a rubber pad for both my floor jack and jack stands. I read that the rear lower control arm is a very strong jack stand point (should be...), it has a good flat area for placement. But used the jacking rails to get it there. They work well, when you look from side you only see 1-2 mm of rail above pinch weld. Almost like a red pinstripe on the undercarriage.

Are you guys happy with your splitter savers? Do you find that with them installed you scrape more? @JimT
